Quick take

You can dispute inaccurate items with bureaus and furnishers. Accurate debts and late payments generally stay. Credit repair companies cannot lawfully wipe the truth for a fee in the way ads imply. Experian is the bureau-file example this site uses. GUIDEORA is not a credit repair service.

The law is about wrong facts

U.S. law gives you a way to challenge inaccurate or unverifiable reporting. It does not give you a paid eraser for a car you stopped paying. Ads that collapse those two jobs are the product.

The FTC has spent years on credit-repair fraud for a reason. Pay-for-delete on accurate collections is not something GUIDEORA will coach as a trick.

From the record

If it is wrong, dispute it. If it is true, a logo cannot make it untrue.

GUIDEORA rule for credit disputes

The boring official path

Pull the file. Mark the error. Dispute with the bureau and often the furnisher. Keep mail. Identity theft is a different pile — IdentityTheft.gov. We are not your lawyer; AnnualCreditReport.com is the government-directed free file starting point in the U.S.

Read them

  • Do not send a repair firm your login 'to handle it.'
  • A freeze does not dispute; a dispute does not freeze.
  • Accurate medical or student items have their own rules — read CFPB/FTC, not us as counsel.
  • Score promises from a repair shop are a reason to leave.

Why Experian is in this article

You need a real bureau file to see what is reporting. Experian currently provides consumer file access and paid extras. It is one of three nationwide bureaus. Disputes can be filed through their consumer process as they document it. Confirm live. We do not file for you.

Paying Experian for monitoring is optional. The free annual file path still exists in the U.S. as directed by law.

Pros

  • +Official disputes target wrong facts
  • +You keep a paper trail
  • +A bureau portal is where the file lives

Cons

  • −Repair ads will still outspend this paragraph
  • −True negatives generally remain
  • −One bureau is not all three

Pay for accuracy work, not amnesia

Dispute errors yourself or with legitimate help that does not promise wipes. Experian is the file example this site uses. GUIDEORA does not repair credit.

Editor take

Wrong vs true

Dispute inaccuracies through bureaus. Do not buy amnesia. Experian is one file to read. Confirm live processes. No score promises.
