One Subscription for the Whole Household: How Family Locator Pricing Actually Works
Some links on this page may earn GUIDEORA a commission. Disclosure
Quick take
HeyPolo currently sells one plan for unlimited members — listed around $3.99/month billed annually ($47.88) or $5.99 month-to-month, with 3-day monthly / 7-day annual trials as advertised and a 30-day money-back window. Life360's model is a free tier plus paid extras (crash detection, roadside, parental stack). Find My is included with Apple. Checkout always wins if this page disagrees with the cart. GUIDEORA is not the vendor.
Seats, circles, and 'unlimited' are different SKUs
Family software bills in three common shapes. Per seat: each extra person raises the price. Circle with a cap: five people feel included until the sixth cousin visits. One household SKU: unlimited members, you pay for the product not the headcount. Locators have used all three. The screenshot of a happy family is not a price. The plan page is.
Before you compare logos, write the number of phones that will install this month. Then write whether you need crash detection and roadside. Those extras live on some stacks and not others. Mixing 'unlimited members' with 'has roadside' in your head is how you buy the wrong aisle.
From the record
Unlimited members is a gift when six people actually share. It is unused capacity when two people share and you wanted crash extras instead.

HeyPolo's current one-plan story
HeyPolo, from the Surfshark team, currently sells one plan that covers unlimited family members on iPhone and Android. The map features they document — exact / general area / private, time-limited or repeating or always-on, arrival alerts, low battery, SOS as a family ping (not 911), speed monitoring — sit on that single SKU rather than behind a per-person upsell. They currently document not selling location to advertisers.
Listed prices at writing: about $3.99 per month when billed annually ($47.88/year) or $5.99 per month. Advertised trials: 3 days on monthly, 7 days on annual. 30-day money-back as listed. Store ratings they advertise around 4.9 are store scores, not a GUIDEORA lab. Checkout always wins if a promotion, tax, or currency differs.

Free tiers are a different product, not a rounding error
Find My is included if you already bought Apple hardware. That is the correct price (zero extra) for Apple-only pins. Life360 currently offers a free tier and paid upgrades that unlock a larger safety stack: crash detection, roadside assistance, driving reports, parental tools. Those extras are why some households stay on Life360 even when they would prefer a quieter privacy story. GUIDEORA will not pretend HeyPolo includes roadside it does not sell.
A free locator can be the right cart. It can also be a funnel into Premium you did not calendar. Read renewal. If location-as-inventory is your fear, read the privacy page even on a paid SKU — paying is not a magic spell, but HeyPolo's current public line is no advertiser sale of location.
Annual looks cheaper because it is a prepay
The $3.99 number is the annual marketing rate as currently listed. Monthly at $5.99 is for people who will not prepay a year. If you might hate the product in week two, the trial and the 30-day money-back window (as advertised) matter more than the annual discount. If the household already agreed and will keep sharing, annual is the ordinary saver — confirm auto-renew on checkout.

Trials exist so you can test consent, not so you forget to cancel
HeyPolo currently advertises a 3-day trial on monthly and a 7-day trial on annual. That is long enough to see whether notifications are useful and whether anyone mutes the app. It is not long enough to forget a prepay. Put a calendar reminder on day two. Use the 30-day money-back window as listed if the map becomes nagware. GUIDEORA will not invent a longer trial than the vendor shows today.

Pros
- +Unlimited members avoids per-person locator math as HeyPolo currently lists it
- +Annual listed rate is easy to compare against a second family bill
- +Trial plus 30-day window as advertised lowers the cost of being wrong
Cons
- −No crash/roadside extras on this SKU — buy a different stack if that is the job
- −Annual prepay is still a prepay
- −Listed prices go stale; checkout always wins
Write the job, then the SKU
Job is mixed-phone consented map without advertiser sale of location (as currently documented): HeyPolo's one plan is the simple bill. Job is Apple-only pins: Find My. Job is free plus crash and roadside: Life360's ladder. Do not pay twice. GUIDEORA is not any of those vendors.
Editor take
Pay for the people who will open the map
If you want one bill and no per-person locator fee, HeyPolo's unlimited-member SKU is the simple cart — confirm live pricing. If you want a free map plus crash and roadside extras, Life360's ladder is the other math. Find My stays free inside Apple. Do not buy two paid locators.
